Ablahat and Sevara* are a married couple living in a remote part of Central Asia. After they got married they struggled to have a child. They were told from several doctors that they would never be able to have children. After a few years, Ablahat began to feel the pressure from his family to divorce Sevara because she had not yet given the family a child. He loved his wife and did not want to divorce her.
His teacher at the university noticed that he was distressed and asked him about it. As a result of this conversation, the teacher invited Ablahat to a gathering. It turned out to be a small gathering of believers. At the meeting, Ablahat noticed that people were being prayed for and were so welcoming. The next time he visited this group he invited Sevara to go with him. At this meeting Sevara was prayed for and had a dramatic spiritual experience. Whilst being prayed for she fell down and she had a vision. Ablahat was very concerned and thought she had died! Later, Sevara shared that in her vision she was holding a baby and it was such a lovely experience that she hadn’t wanted to wake up.
Shortly afterwards Sevara got pregnant. The following year they had a baby boy. As a result of this miracle baby, both Ablahat and Sevara chose to follow Jesus. In time, two daughters were also added to their family. Ablahat and Sevara became active evangelists and started a secret meeting for those who also wanted to follow Jesus. But soon they experienced extreme persecution from the authorities, and so they decided to move to Russia for work and more religious freedom.
Years later the Lord put it on their hearts to move back to their previous region to begin a church plant. They are now doing so alongside their adult son (the miracle baby) who is actively involved in the ministry as well.
